An interesting and varied policy role in the System Leadership Group

We are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to lead Crown Law’s contribution to Justice sector policy and governance. You will engage with Justice sector agencies, the Law Commission and the Cabinet Office and others. You will support Crown Law’s senior leaders to participate in Justice sector governance, and work with Team Managers and Crown Counsel to develop Crown Law positions on other agencies’ policy proposals. You will also work on projects within the System Leadership Group, an exciting new initiative supporting the Solicitor-General in her role as professional lead for government lawyers. You bring excellent policy skills, and the ability to build on your relationships across government, and lead interesting projects. 

You will be tertiary qualified in public policy or law and have the following attributes:

· Relevant experience

· Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills

· Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders

This position is based in Wellington.

To be considered for a position at Crown Law you must have a legal right to live and work in New Zealand and are required to complete a Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check.
