Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Join Crown Law’s Criminal Appeals Support Team on a 12-month secondment or fixed term, providing high-quality legal and administrative support for criminal appeals to the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court. You will manage case documentation, liaise with courts and external parties, ensuring efficient and effective support for Crown Law’s litigation efforts.
Please be aware that this role will be exposed to sensitive criminal material.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation & Coordination: Prepare and manage legal documentation, coordinate appeal-related materials, and liaise with courts and prosecuting agencies.
- Manage and organize both physical and electronic criminal appeal files, including those related to the Crown Solicitor and Police, which may involve managing heavy boxes of documentation.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including courts, Crown Solicitors, and Police.
- Financial Administration: Oversee invoice processing and maintain accurate financial records.
- Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to workplace safety and wellbeing policies.
Skills & Experience
- Proven legal administration experience is ideal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

This role is Wellington based and located next to Wellington bus and train station.

Remuneration and Benefits:
· A starting salary range of between $66,039 and $81,765 with further room to progress. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
